Privacy Policy
Last updated 6 August 2026
Elow helps households organise schedules, childcare handovers, tasks, school updates and meals. Because that involves information about your family — including children — we try to collect as little as we can, and to be plain about what we do hold.
Who we are
Elow is the service available at elow-ai.com. For questions about this policy or your data, email us at privacy@elow-ai.com.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and sign-in method (email and password, or Google sign-in). We never see your Google password.
- Household information — the people you add (adults, children and helpers such as grandparents or a nanny), their working patterns, responsibilities and any notes you record about them.
- Calendar and logistics data — events you create, drop-off and pick-up assignments, and events pulled in from calendars you choose to subscribe to.
- Inbox content — school and club emails you forward or paste in, so we can pull out dates, actions and payments.
- Household activity — tasks, meal plans, shopping lists and messages to the assistant.
- Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated measurements of which pages and features are used (see “Analytics” below).
How we use it
We use your information only to run the service you signed up for: showing your household’s week, suggesting and recording who is doing each handover, turning forwarded emails into actions, answering your questions in the assistant, keeping the service secure, and letting you invite the people you choose.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your household’s content to show you advertising.
Children's information
Elow is designed for adults to use on behalf of their household. Accounts are held by adults. Information you record about a child — their name, school or nursery hours, clubs and activities — exists so the adults and helpers you invite can coordinate care. Only members of your household can see it.
Who can see your data
- Your household. Adults you invite can see and edit household information. Helpers see a limited view focused on the days and runs they are involved in.
- Nobody else’s household. Access rules are enforced in our database, so one household cannot read another’s data.
- Our service providers. We rely on third parties to host the service, send email and power the assistant. They process data on our instructions only.
The assistant and AI
When you send a message to the assistant, that message and the relevant household context (such as the week’s events or who is available) are sent to an AI model provider so it can answer. Wherever the answer is a fact about your calendar, the figure comes from your own data rather than the model’s guess.
Connected calendars and email
If you subscribe to a shared calendar link, we fetch and refresh that calendar so its events appear in your week. If you enable email forwarding, messages sent to your forwarding address are processed to extract dates, actions and payments. You can remove a calendar subscription or turn off forwarding at any time in the app.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the service is used — which pages are viewed and which features are used, in aggregate. We deliberately do not send names, email addresses, event titles, message contents or any other personal detail to Google; only event names, counts and categories. You can block this with any standard browser or extension privacy setting.
How long we keep it
We keep your household’s data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a person, event or item, it is removed from your household. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise the associated data, other than anything we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct most of your information directly in the app.
- Remove a helper or adult, which also revokes their access.
- Disconnect calendars, turn off forwarding, or clear your assistant conversation.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@elow-ai.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your personal data. Contact us and we will help you exercise them.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings. It happens immediately: your login and your personal details are removed, and you are signed out. If other people are still in your household, the shared calendar, children, tasks and meals stay with them. If you are the last person in the household, everything in it is deleted too.
Two things are deliberately kept. If your address is already on our do-not-contact list it stays there, so you are never emailed again, and we retain operational records such as email delivery logs and any feedback you sent us, with your name and account detached so they no longer identify you. We may also keep records we are legally required to hold, for example for accounting.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access rules that limit each request to the household it belongs to. No service can promise perfect security, but if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data we will tell you.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change matters, tell you in the app or by email.
